Covid, Cancellations – Life for the Chickens Goes On
All the shows I mentioned in my last blog have of course been cancelled due to Covid 19. Let’s all hope life will return to normal in the not too distant future. Certainly, none of us have experienced anything quite like this before and I sincerely hope we won’t have to again. Both Clive and I had Covid in March, but after weeks of coughing and very little energy, it went on its way and life continued in the strange social distancing, masked way that everyone has now become used to.
Orders have been continuing from my website and sales have been strong in the Weston Pantry. I shall be adding quite a few gift items on to the website over the next few weeks, so if you need bird themed gifts then do have a look. My website only contains a fraction of the giftware I have in stock, so if you have a friend who likes a particular bird (be it a DoDo or a wren,) do get in touch I may have some ideas for you.
Our building work is finished and the house is now how we want it. The chickens have got 5 star accommodation in their big aviaries and Omlet houses and have been laying well all Summer providing eggs for many people in the village during the shortages at the early stage of the pandemic. I get so many comments from people saying how delicious they are. People have forgotten how good a “proper egg” tastes.
On the jewellery front, I have got designs in the pipeline, but for obvious reasons have cut down on production at the moment. However, there are some new items on the website. Notably, my silver eggs, which have proved very popular. These are available as a dangly earring, a necklace and a tiny stud. These are inset with tiny blue topaz stones and are really pretty.
I hope next time I catch up with everyone, the situation will have improved and we can all go out and about again and socialise. I do so miss the hugs!!
Keep Safe
