What a great four days we had at Blenheim. We had lots of pure breeds of poultry on display and I shared an area with the British Hen Welfare Trust and poultrytalk.com. We had masses of people visit our tent and admire the birds and also interest and sales at the Peck and Feather stand were very good, so a good time was had by all of us there. Jamie Toms gave some excellent talks on poultry keeping along with Lewis helping as well, and separate talks were given by the BHWT on how to rescue and care for hens. It was an exhausting four days, but so worth it to see the public appreciating and commenting on the chickens. We even had a pair of Sebastopol geese for them to look at – I think they were glad to get back to their paddock at home. That’s it for the summer events now, but I’ll be re-stocking for the Winter shows and Christmas Fairs. November and December are going to be busy!
